Social Welfare Sports 2019
International Day for Persons with Disabilities is celebrated on 3rd December every year.
Social Welfare Department, Maharashtra and Lions Premier League, Vile Parle organised the Mumbai Suburb Interschool Athletic Meet and Exhibition of products made by students with special needs, to create awareness and celebrate this day.
The event was held at the Goregaon Sports Club, and more than 25 special schools participated.
20 athletes from Dilkhush took part in the March Past and sports events.
Our students ran the 50 and 100 mts. races. They also participated in the Soft Ball Throw, Standing Long Jump and Shot Put events.
The athletes put in a lot of effort and were encouraged by their friends, trainees, staff and parents. While competing themselves, they also cheered athletes from other schools!
NaziyaShaikh, a first time participant, won a gold medal in the Shot Put event (Females 13-16 yrs.)
